Abstract
The political turmoil in Bangladesh after the 2024 student-led uprising and the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has altered the country's domestic and regional dynamics. This article analyses the political transition in Bangladesh using the framework of Realpolitik, highlighting the practical and strategic actions of domestic elites and regional stakeholders. This study examines the interim government's consolidation of power under Muhammad Yunus, regional responses, and the implications for South Asian geopolitics. Empirical evidence regarding corruption and asset recovery underscores the magnitude of governance issues. This study enhances our understanding of the influence of Realpolitik on statecraft during periods of political transition.
