PEER REVIEW PROCESS

  1. Initial Screening:

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial review to ensure they fit the journal’s scope, meet submission guidelines, and adhere to basic quality standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be desk‑rejected at this stage.

  2. Peer Review:

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent external reviewers for double-blind peer review (reviewers do not know the authors’ identities, and authors do not know the reviewers’ identities). Reviewers are selected based on their subject expertise and are independent of the journal’s editorial board. They evaluate each manuscript for originality, methodology, significance, clarity, ethical compliance, and contribution to the field. Reviewers provide detailed feedback and recommendations to the editorial team.

  3. Revision and Resubmission:

Based on the reviewers’ comments, authors may be asked to revise and resubmit their manuscript. Authors should address reviewer feedback thoroughly and resubmit within the specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation.

  4. Final Decision:

The Editor‑in‑Chief, in consultation with the editorial board, considers the reviewers’ evaluations and authors’ revisions to make the final publication decision. This decision may be acceptance, conditional acceptance pending minor or major revisions, or rejection. The final decision is communicated to the corresponding author with reviewer comments and an explanation.

  1. Plagiarism Policy: Authors must submit original work and properly cite all sources. The journal uses plagiarism-detection software (e.g., iThenticate) to screen all submissions. A similarity index above 15%, excluding references and properly quoted material, may lead to rejection or revision. Plagiarism of any kind — including text, figures, or tables — may result in retraction, blacklisting, and notification to the authors’ institutions.

  2. Conflict of Interest: Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, including financial, personal, or professional factors that may influence the research, review, or publication process.

  3. Ethical Standards: Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with established ethical guidelines (e.g., the Declaration of Helsinki for human research and national animal welfare guidelines) and obtain all necessary institutional approvals. Ethical complaints will be handled in accordance with COPE best practices.

  4. Copyright, Licensing, and Open Access: Authors retain copyright of their work but grant SUPRA Journal the right to publish it.
