Two Wheels, One Path: Buddha’s Wisdom and the Circular Economy

Abstract

The unsustainable exploitation threatens the balance of life on Earth. Urgent action is needed to shift toward conservation, renewable energy, and responsible consumption before irreversible harm occurs. Drawing inspiration from Buddha’s teachings, this paper explores how principles such as impermanence, interdependence, right livelihood, and the middle path resonate with the ideas of a circular economy. By integrating Buddhist wisdom into modern sustainability efforts, we can foster ethical and mindful living, as well as a regenerative economic model that aligns with ecological limits.
